Queen Elisabeth Hospital
Internal metal stud and external linings to nine floors installing approx 50 kilometres of partitions, with a tape and jointed finish. Metsec SFS system to full length of the Concourse with featured panel's full height made up of "Pregebel" acoustic plasterboard. Lead lining to X Ray/scanner rooms, and assistance in the construction of 20 number operating theatres. Fire protection to steel frame on all floors using Rockwool, inclusive of clinical areas where foil faced material was used to decrease fibre migration.
A close working and "partnering" type of approach was taken alongside Balfour Beatty, which enabled, detailed programming with the client and other trades allowing the works to progress in a logical sequence and to an achievable productive disciplined programme. Lafarge systems were installed and adapted to suit "value" and specific detailing; in particular "hybrid" partitions were developed to overcome difficulties at high level due to constrictive access so as to achieve performance. A full recycling process was initiated for plasterboard waste and metal stud off cuts.
