B R Hodgson scope of works included Metsec SFS, weatherboarding, drylining and plasterboard partitions to 5 no. 6 story blocks of student accommodation. Due to late delivery of the concrete panel structure by Laing O’Rourke and poor performance of the M&E contractor the project was severely delayed before we commenced on site.
Laings were facing considerable LED costs if the project was not completed within the time allowance. It was determined that in order to mitigate this a more collaborative approach was required and all subcontractors agreed that, daily programming would be more efficient than projected programming due to the number of trades working in incomplete areas. Meeting on a daily basis gave the completion programme considerable flexibility and almost immediate collaboration between many trades to sustain a correct uniformed flow of works, maximising all trades potential whilst reducing lost time.
